Bette Wagner was born in Illinois and graduated with a degree in Computational Mathermatics from Eastern Illinois University. After living in Iowa and Michigan, she settled in Urbana with her husband & daughter. In 2003, Bette earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting and passed the CPA (Certified Public Accounting) exam. She has over 5 years experience in preparing individual & small business tax returns plus is a member of the AICPA (American Institute of CPAs), the ICPAS (Illinois CPA Society) and the NEB (National Ethics Bureau).

In 2007, Bette became a CEP (Certified Estate Planner) and affiliated with The Estate Plan, a nationally recognized estate preservation company headed by Henry Abts, trust guru and author of The Living Trust. In October 2008, she was a founding member of The National Institute for Domestic Partner Estate Planning.
